With a vision to pioneer a smarter approach for creating sustainable value from an unutilized inventory, Blubirch was founded in 2014 byes former IBM executives. Ever since its founding there has been no looking back. Blubirch has been delivering full range of end-to-end IT/Technology reverse logistic services in multiple countries. It is already operating at a run rate of INR 100+ crore and is dealing with assets ranging from enterprise machines to mobiles. Headquartered in Bengaluru and with offices in Mumbai and Singapore, Blubirch aims to become the world’s most trusted solution provider for unlocking hidden value from used, refurbished, c-return and excess inventory in a transparent manner.

Sapan Kumar Jain, CEO and CFO, Blubirch has over 16 years of experience as a technocrat and has worked in various leadership roles across mid-size and Fortune 500 companies. A graduate from IIT-BHU and holds an MBA degree from INSEAD, France. Prior to establishing Blubirch, he was associated with as its Category and Merchandizing Head, and has also been associated with global IT giants like IBM as its General Manager – Financing (India-South Asia) and General Manager – IT Reverse Logistics Business IBM (Asia Pacific).

The idea for Blubirch was incepted when the founders observed that the reverse logistics industry was ruled by unorganized players who lacked the ability to handle unutilized assets across the full range technology from mainframe to mobile. As a result, the industry lacked transparency, enterprises were not fully aware of the value locked in unutilized assets and no player was able to address the full ecosystem of reverse logistics to provide end-to-end solutions. Additionally, online and off-line retailers also faced challenges in managing the returned, damaged and unsold inventory.

“The USP of the company lies in delivering a full range of end-to-end IT/Technology reverse logistic services in multiple countries by employing a multichannel approach – online, offline and resell – and 50+ years of cumulative reverse logistics experience of its team. The company leverages technology to transform the complete ecosystem of the secondary market for used IT equipment and bring transparency to an otherwise unorganized sector. Blubirch additionally offers a host of retailer/OEM, consumer and enterprise solutions through its extensive network of resellers in India and across the globe” said Sapan Kumar Jain, CEO and CFO, Blubirch.

The company generated INR 17 Crore in revenue with bottom line profit in its first year owing to a business model that includes volume sale, buyback, rental, and warranty addressing both enterprises and individuals.

Looking to capitalize on the growing reverse logistics market and increasing awareness about refurbished equipments, Blubirch is consolidating its presence in the growing economies of India, Asia and Africa to establish itself as the leading supplier of high quality “Second Life” IT assets for individuals and enterprises, further added Mr Sapan.
